Nisha was invited by Big Circle Studios, to join a conversation on Material Futures to discuss her exploration of natural dyes during the COVID-19 lockdown.

The project, titled '21 Days of Colour' explores food waste as a raw material to produce natural dyes over a 21 day period. The process brought about an awareness of how much we consume, how much we waste and the seasonal diversity present during this time.
As part of the conversation, Nisha prepared a 'Material Portrait', which represents her design philosophy and use of colour in her work. The short film explores the extraction of colour from a collection of materials, textiles, patterns and stories that inspire her work. The colour from each object is distilled into a transient material portrait.
